If a contact form sends messages with an external address in the From field, large mail services may reject or filter these messages.

  1. Use an address on your own domain in the From field, for example info@your-domain.
  2. Configure the form to send mail through SMTP whenever possible.
  3. Check SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for the domain.
  4. Verify that the recipient address is correct and test another mailbox.
  5. If PHP mail is used, check the sendmail path and hosting mail limits.

For stable delivery, SMTP authentication with a domain mailbox is usually better than sending mail directly from a script.

What to check after following this guide

After changing settings, make sure the result works not only in the control panel but also for real website visitors or mailbox users. Test without browser cache and avoid changing many settings at once unless you know exactly what each change does.

For domains, check which DNS records are visible from outside. If records were changed recently, some networks may still use the old values until DNS propagation is complete.

  • check the name servers at the registrar;
  • verify A, MX, TXT, CNAME or other required records;
  • wait for DNS propagation if the change was recent.
